Automatic mahjong tables can be categorized by their tile-pushing method, primarily including single-port, four-port, and eight-port machines.

A single-port machine has only one tile-pushing port, using a conveyor chain to deliver tiles to each player. Because the four ports must handle the tiles sequentially, and with the conveyor system in place, the tile-pushing speed is slow, taking approximately two minutes to complete, and it has a higher failure rate. While the single-port machine was the earliest type of mahjong machine, it is now largely obsolete.

A four-port machine has four tile-pushing ports without a conveyor chain, allowing for simultaneous tile delivery from all four ports. The delivery speed is faster, typically completing the process in 18 to 35 seconds. Through mechanical design, it achieves stable performance and fast shuffling speed.

An eight-port machine employs tile-grabbing technology, further enhancing automation. With technological advancements, some high-end models have achieved one-button switching between 4+8 port modes, indicating mature and stable technology. As the industry moves towards intelligent and high-end products, the demand for mid-to-high-end products has exceeded 60%.
